Kate and Colin’s adventure wedding session led to some absolutely stunning photos. Adventure bridals are the perfect way to celebrate an anniversary, honeymoon, or vacation. They’re also great for splitting up your elopement and wedding day. You can take bridal pictures before or after your wedding day to help loosen up the schedule on your elopement day. Plus, they allow for more flexibility on the location!
Adventure wedding session in Hawaii
The couple and I shared a quiet yet super windy evening together and embraced all the elements. We were lucky enough to have a stunning rainbow show up as well as a beautiful little moonrise! Combine that with dramatic clouds, direct sun, and a beautiful blue hour at the end, this session really had it all.
I love to capture a wide variety of images for my couples. Every session is different based on the location and the couple’s dynamics. This particular evening was so beautiful, and Kate and Colin are really active, outdoorsy, and adventurous. They love to surf, hike, and dive. It’s clear that they fully embrace the Hawaiian lifestyle! I focused on the beauty of the space we were in and captured some adventurous and movement shots to best represent the couple.
Handling Hawaii’s wind
Hawaii can get really breezy, especially on the coast and up in the mountains, which can result in some stunning photos! To get the perfect look, I always recommend my couples try to wear something that can fly and play and dance in the wind. Full skirts and lightweight fabrics are perfect! Kate wore the Indi gown, which is one of my favorites!
As far as what you can expect for your hair – it will fly! Rest assure I will angle and position you for the most flattering hair in the wind. Keep in mind when styling your hair that a loose hairstyle is typically best. I also recommend an up-do that will look good with a loose look too such as braids.
My biggest tip is just to embrace and enjoy the gorgeous movement. As your photographer, I’ll make sure to set up the shots to get the best movement, while also making you both look awesome!
