I ended 2021 with the most incredible adventure – a one-of-a-kind wedding on Waimanalo Beach, complete with a sunset sail on a catamaran! Lindsay and Casey are an adventure-loving couple who are always oceanside. The two met in Moorea as marine undergrads at UCLA and spend their weekends hiking, kayaking, and enjoying the incredible outdoors. They are a couple after my own heart! After eleven years together, the two were ready for the greatest adventure of all: getting married.
These two allowed me to have so much creative freedom, and it was pretty incredible to spend the day with the two of them. We started their elopement with a first look on the beach as the winds blew all around us.
There is really nothing more perfect than a coastal breeze in the afternoon since it allows us to play around and soak it all in.
Lindsay is so chic and has the most incredible style. She had not just one, but three looks! Her first look was a crepe jumpsuit, paired with a sheer tulle skirt that she made herself (!!), and was covered in soft shimmer. The Amsale jumpsuit was perfect for the sandy beaches since she could look incredible but feel comfortable.
She chose a bridal bouquet filled with local blooms to add in a tropical flair. King proteas, orchids, and a pop of orange pincushions were tied together with a splash of greenery. Casey chose a classic blue suit with a traditional lei.
Waimanalo Beach Elopement
Their elopement ceremony took place on Waimanalo Beach, surrounded by their closest family members and friends. It was so important for these two to keep the day intimate and filled with time to spend with everyone who came to celebrate. They made a whole week out of their time in Hawaii and wanted to be with everyone they loved!
After their ceremony, we headed to the ocean for some afternoon fun! They charted a private sail for their family, and it was something I have dreamed of capturing! Everyone changed into swimsuits, and Lindsay rocked her second look: a white sequined dress.
An Afternoon on a Cataraman
After some champagne to celebrate the two, we jumped off the back of the boat and did an underwater session! We snorkeled with the fish and giant sea turtles, and it was a one-of-a-kind way to celebrate getting married. I love when I can use my underwater camera and dive on in with my couples. So whether you want an underwater experience or have a sunset session on the beach among the crashing waves, I have the gear to do it! Once we were done snorkeling, we celebrated and refueled with breakfast burritos and champagne. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful elopement.
An adventure elopement takes you outside of the traditional wedding setting, and lets you enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Think breathtaking views, becoming one with nature, travel and outdoor activities. And that is exactly what Lindsay and Casey did! They took their love of the ocean and turned it into an unforgettable experience.
As an adventure elopement photographer here on Oahu, I am here to help you create your unique vision. From sunrise elopements on the beach to jumping into the ocean, I am all in! I want to make sure it’s not just fun, but meaningful. Reach out, and let’s plan your adventure!
