Last month I shared my favorite North and East Shore Oahu elopement and intimate wedding venues, and this month I want to share my favorites in South Shore! While Oahu is a gorgeous place to get married, we can have some hot and rainy weather. We are an island, after all! Many of my couples, who want to invite a few guests to their affair, decide to have their wedding at a venue.
Not only does this make it weatherproof, but it is also more accessible for guests to travel to and from. Many of my favorite spots offer on-site lodging so that guests can stay on-site as well! Some venues also provide beautiful getting-ready areas and the ease and comfort of getting ready and doing a first look on location.
It is always an option to do multiple locations for photos-ceremony and friends/family photos at the venue and jetting off either before or after the ceremony for a more private adventure session together in your wedding attire.
One of my favorite parts about elopements and intimate weddings is the flexibility they allow – everything is so open and fluid, and the possibilities are near endless! I love to shoot elopements and micro weddings, since they are a seamless way to remove all the noise and stress, and just enjoy this day together. As a photographer, I will work with you to focus on capturing the things that really matter, and let your love shine.
I’ve lived in Hawaii for over a decade, and I have found some incredible places to get married. Here are some of the best South Shore Oahu elopement and intimate wedding venues.
Cafe Julia
Nestled in Downtown Honolulu, Cafe Julia has a beautiful historic courtyard perfect for intimate affairs. It feels secluded while still being close by to all the things Honolulu has to offer. Their in-house catering is delicious and also makes for a great rehearsal dinner spot!
Bayer Estate
Bayer Estate is an ocean-front estate with a garden feel. The rolling green grass leads to a secluded beach, which makes for beautiful sunset portraits. The property is shaded in mature sea grape and ironwood trees, with plenty of tropical flowers all around. You can have your wedding outdoors on the lawn or inside the historic home. They also have a second-floor bridal suite where you can get ready.
Hawaii Vista Weddings
Hawaii Vista is a 40-acre fruit and flower farm that offers a secluded space for weddings. You get a scenic backdrop of the Waianae Mountains, all with the picturesque views of a lush tropical garden. There are two unique spots to choose from, so you can pick the setting you love the most! The Manana Garden is a large space overlooking the forest, while the Adventure Elopement Site gives you mountain views on a wooden deck.

Kaimea Estates
Offering two unique locations, Kaimea Estates gives you two different options! The first is Hale Punakai, which sits on the outskirts of Waikiki. It has incredible ocean views and blossoming tropical plants all around. They have a pool on-site, with two outdoor areas for your ceremony and reception. The covered patio provides shade, and you can also move festivities inside the home if needed. Their second estate, The Farm, is on the North Shore, tucked into the hillside. It is a large space and can accommodate larger weddings. Their expansive orchard makes for a stunning backdrop!

Nutridge Estate
If you are looking for the best city views of Honolulu, you will love Nutridge Estate! Located just above the Tantalus lookout, you get a panoramic view of the city and coastline. While you are just 15 minutes from downtown, you feel like you are miles away on your own island. The venue is surrounded by forests and offers endless photo opportunities. Once you see the breathtaking view overlooking the coast, you will fall in love.
The Modern Honolulu
If you are looking for a contemporary space with luxe details, check out The Modern Honolulu! With sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean and legendary Waikiki shores, guests will love staying here and celebrating with you. The Modern Honolulu offers multiple spaces for weddings, but for intimate events, I love the Sun Suite and Terrace. You get both indoor and outdoor spaces, all overlooking the Ala Wai Marina.

Tchin Tchin
Tchin Tchin is a fun and modern wine bar in downtown Honolulu that also lets you have events on-site. Their rooftop makes the perfect spot for an intimate wedding since you get a private space in the heart of downtown without having to rent out a huge space. A living garden wall provides a beautiful spot for your vows, and guests can enjoy delicious food and drinks right on site. The chic urban environment makes this the perfect place for an elopement!
