As a Hawaii wedding & elopement photographer, I’m lucky to get to document the various wedding styles that couples use as inspiration. It’s always fascinating seeing what each couple has planned and then executing their dream and turning it into their gallery. When Nancy & Jesse were inquiring, they explained how they really loved the mid-century modern/ classic aesthetic and wanted their Hawaii elopement to reflect that. If you’re considering a luxurious vintage, but still modern elopement, continue reading for more ideas and inspiration!
A Vintage Elopement With A Modern Twist
When describing a specific style for her Hawaii elopement, Nancy’s two words were vintage & classic. The couple wanted their special day to be soft, subtle, meaningful & seamless. With those key descriptive words in mind, they chose to do their ceremony at a beachside location, followed by photos taken at the iconic Vladimir Ossipof cabin, nestled high up in the mountains. With such an intimate location, highlighting the simplicity and youthful nature of the couple’s love was done with ease! While capturing their elopement, it felt as if time was at a standstill. We were high up in the clouds, and the only other witness to their elopement day up at the top was the resident Franklin-a beautiful + curious ground bird. The excitement and genuine happiness exuded that day is encapsulated in the couple’s wedding gallery, a treasure they will be able to reflect on years down the road. In Nancy’s words, “It took 13 memorable years to get to this moment, and if the images could speak for themselves, we want them to say- it was all worth it.” This mid-century modern Hawaii elopement was nothing short of amazing-the images speak for themselves! Nancy & Jesse had the most perfect day, and I am grateful to have been the one to get to photograph it!
