Kona Village Wedding Photographer | Big Island Film Wedding
This wedding was featured on the front page of Style Me Pretty — and for good reason. From sunset florals to designer fashion, every detail felt unforgettable.
There are weddings that feel like magic—and then there are weddings where magic is quite literally written in the sky. Laura and Adam’s multi-day wedding celebration at Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort was vibrant, fashion-forward, and deeply connected to the rhythms of the land and the people they love most.
Over five days on Hawaiʻi Island, their guests were immersed in color, nature, intention, and joy. The result was a destination wedding that felt alive in every sense—rooted in place, rich in story, and full of artful beauty.
A Deeply Personal Kona Village Wedding Setting
Kona Village is more than just a luxury resort—it’s a place with soul. The couple chose the property not just for its beauty but because of its deep personal significance. For Laura, it was a place filled with childhood memories. For Adam, it quickly became a sanctuary of his own. And for their wedding, it became a canvas for celebration.
They hosted their welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and farewell brunch at the Presidential Hale, creating a home-like setting for gathering, storytelling, and laughter for their Kona Village wedding.

Sunset Colors + Island Reverence
The wedding design was inspired by the colors of a Kona sunset—those unforgettable hues that shift from bold orange and deep pink to soft purple and glowing gold.
The ceremony on the lawn behind the Spa was intimate and windswept, surrounded by florals that felt like they had grown right out of the lava rock. Guests faced the ocean as the couple exchanged vows under the open sky.

Rather than compete with the landscape, every design choice enhanced it. The floral palette echoed the island’s volcanic terrain and sky. The styling was thoughtful but effortless. It was clear that this day wasn’t just about beauty—it was about meaning, a strong theme for their Kona Village wedding weekend.
Three Designer Looks, One Incredible Bride
Laura’s fashion was a story of its own. She wore three looks throughout the day, each one uniquely her.
- For the ceremony: a sculptural gown by Vivienne Westwood
- For the reception: a second Vivienne Westwood dress with a more relaxed silhouette
- For the afterparty: a Ronny Kobo set that felt like pure celebration
Every look photographed like a dream, especially on film.

Adam brought his own polish, wearing a look that blended tailored elegance with island ease—featuring pieces from Vivienne Westwood, Velasca Milano, and Brunello Cucinelli.

A Colorful Kona Village Wedding Reception at Ho’okipa
Their reception at Hoʻokipa was drenched in warmth and color. Tables were overflowing with tropical blooms in sunset tones—yellows, oranges, pinks, reds, and a pop of soft purple. As the sun dropped lower behind the palm trees, the entire celebration seemed to glow from within.

Guests shared a meal curated by the Kona Village culinary team, led by Chef Robert Sulatycky, who created an island-fusion menu served through interactive stations. It was immersive, energetic, and delicious.
The Cake That Said It All
Laura had a vision for the cake: fun, a little funky, and absolutely unforgettable. Pastry Sous Chef Artemis Baghdanian created a guava cake with cream cheese icing that felt like the perfect embodiment of the couple—vibrant, unexpected, and joyful.
Moments That Stay
From a grounding circle led by a local Hawaiian elder during the welcome party to the quiet morning swim the couple shared with their family before the ceremony, this wedding was built around presence and connection.
It was also a week of natural beauty and symbolism, from a dramatic volcanic eruption in the distance to the full moon that rose quietly above the water, casting a silver light over the final hours of the night.
These are the kinds of weddings I love most. Artful, emotional, unrepeatable. The kind that live on in memory as more than just a beautiful event, but as a full sensory experience.
